Not if it was over tuned, ie too much timing for the engine and thus E90 fuel being used

No reason to need any race gas at all in this car.
You would see that in a log or dyno tuning

I am curious about any mods, tune or E90 used. Warranty problem or racing incident?

You are missing the point. Tuned = Higher shift RPM and who knows what. You say E90 requires a tune. He says E90. You do the math. Plus he was asked more than once if he was tuned and "crickets".

Piston fragments from 2 different cylinders show no signs of melting. But they DID show signs of getting beat up from Dabris.

Not necessarily. Say the pumped in 3 more deg of timing in the tune, more RPM at shift, threw in bigger injectors, and put E90 in the car. Everything may have been fine in the log, but the motor went bang because it couldn't take the extra. My logs from my original Hellcat motor looked fine until it bent a rod and went bang.

@DRAGRCR - I'm with ya. Sure would be nice to get to the bottom. Butter says he talked to the owner and had all the info thinking he would get in touch with the new CEO?

There were a few days where I emailed Tim Kuniskis and Jim Wilder and they both responded within an hour. Tim many times within 5 minutes. But they are both gone and I do not know the new CEO. I feel used. Thank God I do most of this for myslf, but still........

Answer me this, on my Issue. Could you not just copy ALL tranmission shift tables to be the same? I know it would be a bitch driving around easy, but I think I know how to deal with it. Can you tell which ones are agressive and then just copy all those to be the same? How does a tuner change your shift timing if the tables are all different?

Here is what I think happened. In Bakersfield when it did a wheelie to 55 feet (two times) it shifted in the air at about 35-40 feet. Seemingly a short shift and a much firmer/faster shift that I could clearly feel. +350 DA and on the SHORTER 315/50. So it was revving up real quick and the car responded in an appropriate way.

In Dallas I had the taller tire on it. So, I think it was not revving up as quick and it did not use that more aggresive shift table. I think it used more of a shift just in time table that also shifted softer. When I say softer it's like I don't even notice it shifting. It sure would be nice if I could insure that more aggresive table would be used when I know I am going to be popping big wheelies. If the front end is 3' in the air I will take a short shift all day long........

The trans is reasonably complicated but what you describe, copying aggressive tables to others, is definitely possible. If it w were me I'd datalog the trans to understand what was used when, make notes for the ones I liked, then make them the same. I did some of this in my old car.

Also, for the record Larry said his Demon 170 that lost the motor was NOT Tuned. So, E90 and not tuned. He put up more pics of the window in the block and oil pan and the rods broken off inside the crankcase etc. He said the Dealer took pics and I assume that is for a Claim/Star case. My best guess from all the info is it just broke a rod. At this power level you are going to find the weak ones.

Butter the Insider just posted on the other site that he talked to Dodge and the engine is being replaced.

I've seen some screen shots from FB posts and he was being a little funny about the "tuned" question. He was specific to say "engine" wasn't tuned. Well, what about the trans?

Also, it could have gone lean on E90. Bypass "should" have opened, but did it? I'd love to see his log.

I will take this one step further. Maybe the bypass opened and that broke the rod.

Sudden unloading of the engine at high RPM load.

The bypass safety has been a thing since 2015 Hellcats. My 2016 had it as well. It doesn't just open, it's gradual to bring injector pw back below a set threshold. Happened on my old car when I was dialing in the fuel system.

On some 2018 and up cars tuners reported it quit working for some reason. I think Jon and Z both said they had issues but my 2016 worked like a champ.

I don't think that would cause any issues with the engine, but if it ran lean too long before it opened to bleed boost...BANG.

I know some don’t do a Blackstone at first oil change, but this is what it should look like.

Oil analysis report came back for the 170 and looks reasonably typical. Keep in mind first oil change and only 730 miles. I am now sitting at 1280 miles soooo
Track time is in near future. Speedy I look forward to your results too, mine took almost a month they must be busy.

Here it is along with few other pics of “White Ice” it will not read that on the IP plate on dash, it’s just what I call it because of body color and one of the last true Dodge Ice Hurrah, literally because of Dec 12 Build.

Blackstone report, and a few pics of car off trailer from picking it up, First order of business remove banana peal wrapper that’s on stone wall then later on all other shipping protection. Send to PPF shop. Wait for sand on roads from NE winters to be washed away, Follow proper break in, change oil early @ 730 miles, open filter inspect especially with questionable 170 metallic oil debates.

Full nose with Expel Ultimate, doors, lower quarter in front/behind rear MT tires, 30% Tint. Now at 1280 miles. Getting close to the magic 1500 mi.
