Best engine oil?

I know this is a basic question but additive packages in oil have gotten very complicated. Additives have been removed from some (general purpose oil) and added to others (high milage). Every brand has different additive packages in each sub category of their offerings (think high mileage, extended service, etc, etc). I'm looking for the best oil performance, so what's everyone's thought process nowadays?

Whhhhat'yoz talking about Wallas?? Put what the manufacturer asks for for break in period. Then go vi All I figure if it dosen't leak then there may still be sum in there. But years ago Mobil One came out and according to the performace info and commercial. They they treated a vette and drained it. Ran it till it locked up. Don't know??? Says trans spator.

Now now,,,, let's not get our oiled up panties in a wad. There are perfectly insane people here that know exactly what I am not talking about. They obsereve it as totally abnormal,,,, but how the ones on the tracks live. I understand there are those that have a LAX in communication skills that don't grip the conversation. Of oil. It is very in potentent unless you drive a Pan Head and dosen't smatter. Bob??

I've always recommended Amsoil, if you can get ahold of it, Schaeffer's (My store rep stopped by today and I got a free hat, LOL), or if you're unsure, stick to the PUP. Can't go wrong with factory in these cars.

I've been a fan of royal purple for a while. I haven't converted the Cat yet, but saw 15 awhp increase from switching to all RP fluids (transmission, diff, radiator, engine oil)
