Don't trust the octane numbers on their website. I used the ratio they claim will make 100 octane and compared it to 100 octane VP unleaded; it was not the same. I could not run as much timing with the Boostane mix as I could with the VP gas. Royal Purple was worse. I use VP Octanium now; they recommend one quart per 10 gallons of premium, and it works. And it's cheaper than Boostane.

For what its worth, I've used the VP Octanium as well, just not extensively. IMO, best alternative to just using VP race gas.

It works and as a bonus, it's probably the most cost-effective additive out there. These guys are scientists, not hacks. Do some digging and you will see that they have done their research and testing.

As for the real world, back in 2018 Demonology got ~902 HP at the crank (assuming 12% parasitic loss: (794 RWHP/0.88)) on his stock/unmodified Demon with the race gas PCM. That's pretty impressive in my book...

It held 100 on my demon, used it to race a few times with no issues.

Just say no to octane boosters. Check out the pics from @16GoManGoHC2 engine.

I was only on a 93 tune for a short time and it was the beginning of the year. Fuel was junk around here so my tuner pulled 2 degrees of timing and then I had the original tune. So the one trip I made it to the drag strip first week of April I added vp optimum unleaded octane boost. Besides that trip I ran the tune that had 2 deg pulled. I wasn’t a fan of running the octane boost so I am now on a flex fuel tune and keep e85 in as much as possible.
Needless to say sure it works. Would I rely on it no. In case of emergency sure.

The pics he posted had like 1/4" of buildup on the exhaust valves that he had to use sanding wheels and a lot of labor to remove. I knew it turned stuff orange, but was very surprised to see that. I'll be giving the can I have away now.

I'd like to see those pictures @16GoManGoHC2
It doesn’t look that bad until you look at the exhaust valves and see from the cleaned ones they have a deep tulip to them that was totally full of MMT residue. Took about an hour per cylinder to polish them clean. No chemical of any sort could cut it, took mini abrasive discs to remove it. 994D399B-70B1-4126-B60C-5073A1C3555C.jpeg AB2543BC-4B9B-4619-B78C-8E8EBE0DDFEE.jpeg 694EC5E2-0126-49A2-A123-988FC740ECC5.jpeg

So you attribute that to Boostane? How much per tank? How long did you use it and was it professional or premium?

E85 is just to damn hard to do here. Additionally our gas is 91 octane and it really sucks, thus the Boostane. I only run enough (4oz) to get 93 octane for my 93 octane tune. I’ve run it for almost 3 years with no issues and it definitely wakes the old girl up.

I guess I’m not used to not having anything but 93, race fuel and e85 around me. I guess that’s the benefits of living by a drag strip and a circle track 😉

It was actually Octanium Unleaded, Boostane is even worse!! Anything that has MMT in it is going to produce the same result.

Agree, I used Octanium Unleaded for almost 2 years, about 8,000 miles worth. From monitoring plugs and O2 sensors in the exhaust stream I thought it wasn’t doing much harm, until I saw the exhaust valves when I pulled it apart to go forged. I can get 98 octane unleaded at Pocono Speedway which is about 45 minutes away only. I’ll be starting up and breaking in on that then going back to corn as soon as possible.

This one looks similar, but one seems not affected. 63191514-D1C8-4C15-8520-F6EBFE50BECA.png
