I called livernois today to ask. They told me it’s already been 6 weeks and they do not have an expected date to receive more. Wish I had lore because I’m looking around and the CCI one seems to be the best.
Will do, be installing new lower 1-2-3 gear ratio Tranzilla at same time. Hurt my back yesterday morning, been unable to even walk since, hopefully wont interfere with making this swap before winter, weather is getting PERFECT here to make power.
Sorry to hear about the back. Been there more than once. See you got the slippers on. Been there too. Feel better.
Curious, why'd you go with the DSS CV style DS instead of the U-joint style G-Force?

Those my garage slippers lol
I thought I’d be started on dropping the trans Monday (yesterday) and I found a NIB current version DSS ready to ship at a decent price and pulled the trigger on it. I’ve heard pros and cons on both Ujoint and CV styles but know a good CV has less friction loss and better chance of running on center and vibrating less. I figured their using CV’s on axles they ought to be good on DS’s also. Hoping I made the right choice trust me lol, as always, time will tell
Hope your back gets better soon. Been there also many times. Rest (hard to do) is about all that works. Been going through the drive shaft thing also. Can’t pull the trigger. Worried about higher speed (above 150) vibrations.

Thank you!! Me too!! Back to work today (desk job mostly) so that’s a start
I’ve been hesitant also to replace the stock DS for the same reason for the same reason, even thought about buying a high priced high strength 2 piece one to avoid high speed vibration etc but cost just nuts for such so figured I’d start with something before I wish I did after suffering the woes of breaking the stock one first pull with the lower 2.98 first.
Back feeling a bit better, going to be lifting the car today to change just the DS before Friday’s last local track street drag shootout. Tranny’s going to have to wait plus I want to see what the new DSS is like NVH wise before changing too many things all at the same time. I test fit bell to tranny this am, gives more all the more itch to swap it out which I want to mate the new trans to existing clutch and bell and see if it alone adds any NVH.
Two things. Sorry to show ignorance but what is NVH. Also I can see the Quick Time bellhousing is hydro formed on the smooth can on top, but is it welded all around on bottom? (looks like that in pics). Is it to intricate a piece to just stamp in one hydro form pressing? The old Lakewood's were always just one stamping.

Supposedly this QuickTime bell is spun not pressed.
Removed exhaust system today, 4 nuts on the collectors and 4 hanger bolts and the entire exhaust system comes off, sweet!!
Tomorrow the new DS goes in
