Had a blast as usual at ChallengerFest. Hit up the private rental Saturday morning to try my luck with my big boy E85 tune up. This rental was race tires only and great prep which is not typical on the standard TNT days. My worn out 305/45R17s did just fine, no spin, so my previous traction issues are prep related. Now I gotta decide if I wanna give the 315/50R17 a go or get the 305/45R17 again. I'm afraid the bigger tire will be a wash and won't gain me anything when prep is good and I can just pull a little power when prep isn't good with the 305s. I'm already well in the 10.00 range I race in so the rest is gravy. Will probably pull the trigger on something next week.

Great to meet @BULL in person and get to check out one of the CDT rotors as well. I was SHOCKED at how light it was compared to stock. I wish I'd had the wherewithal to get a picture.

You want your car to run 10.0 in any weather, I want my car to hook in any track prep. Mine did with stock boost, now it needs to with more power.

You do have to remember the higher da and the hot weather also helped with prep. You get and cool air it is that much harder to take off because the same tune is more power. Also, if the sun isn't out that can hurt the prep as well.
Glad you made it out to the track. Seems like it has been awhile.

Do it for the sake of science. Then you'll know and will have found some answers to your questions. Just keep in mind what works or doesn't work for you might not apply to someone else because conditions and circumstances rarely are the same.

I was at the track in March. Cold day and no prep = no hooking up. These special TNT days the track are doing are great. Set my 9.70 at one in good air on a tune with a lot more at launch than my E85 tune has. Hopefully we'll get one this fall but we'll see.

Well, there were folks on 315s not getting as good 60' as I was on the worn out 305s. Pretty similar setups. That's the nice thing about these types of events, you can see different setups on the same track same day same conditions.

Ya'll better hit the track, gotta have your priorities straight LOL.

I'm real curious how yours does on the 315s. I'm gonna hold off on buying anything if you guys are hitting the track this week. Results have kinda been all over the place but you guys are pretty methodical so I figure you'll get some good info.

There's a national glue/prep shortage that's slated to last through end of July if not longer. This could affect how a track decide to use what little (or no) prep they have available for any given test and tune night.

Thought I'd share.

How we managed to get thru 3 days and not get a picture of us together or of the rotor is a bit baffling...

Plus hat/hardware @ ~2.5lbs

I will say this, given how many things you had pulling on you, you were a great host to me in particular.

I can sincerely say I had a good time and felt welcome all around.

I've got those thoughts you asked for written down, but it's probably best done on the phone at some point.

Today I'm working on cleaning all of the roadtrip sin off of my car... I've got some new scars, but I guess I'll have to call them patina...
