So I just got this installed. I was told just to drain a little fluid. Add a ship load of ice. Then watch the intercooler temperatures go down. Is that all there is to it?

No. There’s the ice management program you’ll be forced to deal with when you go to the track. That means stopping at the the nearest station to the track and buying over priced bags of ice. Plan on $40-$60 worth depending. If you have a trailer it is easier to manage. You will want to have a cooler (coolers) to put it in.
