Interchiller in trunk?

I been thinking about getting an FI Interchiller. I'm not a fan of cutting into the metal behind my front bumper to install this though. I'm thinking the next best place to install this will be where the subwoofer is. By the pictures, this looks like a sealed unit. Does anyone have any experience with installing this interchiller in the trunk?

I am sorry to say this again and again,,, why,, of all the different methods ways to proceed with a better system than to go thru the trunk. Flintstone age of cooling systems. What a pvc tank full of ice with 20 feet of piping and 1 3 way valve. I thought me and the Australian devised this a year ago. My concept and is marketing solved the issue. Look it up, sorry Cole veggie dog for breakfast wasn't enough.

Yes, 4 holes that can be covered back up with rubber grommets is far less destructive than removing crash / impact material from the front bumper.

Ummm. I’ll just say this..... I didn’t cut the front bumper crash bar. Simply mounted the brick to the underside using the included brackets. I know... it blocks some of the lower radiator. Makes no difference. Driving the car around in 100++ degree heat in Phoenix with no rise in engine coolant temps. I know what the instructions say. Men never follow instructions. Ask my wife.

There are several other not so glowing posts across various websites about this company. I'm not here to bash, I just research the crap out of everything before plopping down the money. Just sharing what I ran across.

Do you have the stage 1 or 2 kit? The stage 1 kit requires no cutting into the bumper.

Our Active Interchiller 19" Competition Xtreme Chiller can be mounted by cutting only halfway through the crash bar and retaining one of the 2 boxes, this can not be seen and does not block any airflow. Or you could do our 13" Vertical Chiller that is very efficient and is 100% bolt-on under L headlight by removing the small aux. HX. We will be a Vendor on here as soon as its setup, so there will be full information. We will also have a Hellcat Demonstrate our 19" Interchiller at FL2k Sunday morning 10/13

The amount of Freon you would have to use to install this in your trunk would be extremely costly. Many ways to mount this to the front without cutting anything up.

The picture above is not a FI Interchiller. that is another company's product. I have a FI Interchiller on my car and would only buy a FI Inerchiller. The FI Interchiller is made in Australia not the US. PM me if you have any questions.

That is correct we are the original Interchiller from 2009 that was first to develop Automatic HX Bypass, Track Mode, Progressive Refrigerant Distribution Device, and CNC Refrigerant Adapters for no cut installation. We also give a measured amount of refrigerant for every platform so you know exactly what to charge, HC is less than 2LB with our 2 hose no-cut design.

We did a Refrigerated Trunk Tank prototype back in 2012 but I did not like the SS Braided refrigerant hoses run to the rear even on a TBSS body on frame. I definitely don't recommend a Chiller in the trunk but don't like using a Chiller for impact material either, but it is an option.

Thank you for the replies. If I do an interchiller I have decided it is definitely going to be an FI interchiller. I've only had the car for about six months, and it is surprising to me that I am even thinking of wanting more than 700 horsepower!

The main purpose of looking at something like this was to reduce my intake Air temps from 150 -180 degrees when I run in the summer, to hopefully 60 or 70 degrees IAT's.

Problem is, I just talked to some company that sells these inter Chillers and the guy pretty much talked me right out of getting one because I'm just not ready to tune the car yet and void my warranty.

He also said my warranty could also be avoided because I altered the supercharger cooling system. If something happens to my engine, Dodge might point the finger at that as being the root cause.

I know..........

But, I got a few buddies that are right there...
2 are running 10.55 in V6 Mustangs with nitrous, and 1 is a CTS-V, and 1 trackhawk. If I can just get down to 10.45 - 10.5 flat, that be sweet. Just saying...

After a bit more weight reduction, I figure I should be at 10.95 at 3k DA.
