This is not a post about headers being "worth" it. I wanted to see if anyone has any experience with the Texas Speed longtubes? They are reasonably priced and I know TS is pretty big in the GM world. Any info would be much appreciated.

These look nice and are cheaper than others. They're probably ok.
I sure do miss the days of $150 Hedman Headers.

LOL..that comment brings back memories...back in 1971..we had a speed shop here...Sport and Custom it was called...Xmas special...Hedman Headers for my 69 roadrunner...39.95...my mother bought me them for xmas...she was clueless

In my experience, the cheap headers, over time, will have lots of problems. One problem is fit and finish. It gets worse from there.

Initially, they will leak, because cheap headers have thinner (and cheaper metal) flanges. Once these warp, you are stuck with the constant ticking coming from under the hood. There is no way to fix this, as grinding it smooth only makes it thinner, so it fails even quicker, and stacked gaskets quickly blow out.

Cheaper headers use thinner wall tubes (and cheaper metal) which will not 'wear' well over time. A band-aid for this would be a quality hi-temp coating, but it only delays the inevitable due to the cheaper metal its applied to

Theres a reason that stainless steel longtube headers with thick flanges cost what they cost.

These are Stainless steel. I've reached out to TS to gain more info. I don't want to pay for a name when it comes to quality longtubes. I'll update this thread as I gain info.

They are still in the trunk of the car waiting for install. Between work and the virus, my schedule has been upside down since I bought them. I am really hoping to get them slapped on soon.

We have very similar mods, MeanCat. I have 2.85, 1050 ID's, LMI, 3.09 w/P4D and PCM/TCM tune by HHP. I will not get a re-tune immediately, so o2 simulators will go on for now. I will report my gains or losses via my butt dyno and data logs.
