The Current Drag pak engine is not spun to 10,000 RPM in the Dodge, The Cobra-jets yes! Our Current IHI superchargers are all done at 21,000 RPM where the Whipple 3.0 is safe with its rotor design up to 30,000 RPM. The Street and race blower use the exact same rotor group and housing the intercooler being the only difference. Right now I am spinning my Blower to 24,270 so I for sure have a bunch left in it blower only.

@Speedy! I had a 2.57 upper and the ATI 10% lower tell me buddy what RPM was a spinning the blower shifting at 6900 RPM??

So if stock on RE is 8.18 Divided by 3.35 times 6200RPM = 15,139 , I got a waze to go before I even 'use up' my little 2.7's safe performance limit. Guess I won't be needing one of these soon. LOL.
Seriously, this thing looks great, but it seems by design the lid would have to come off for any type of mods, which seems a PIA. The old Mag's were not only reliable but so easily serviceable and easy to work on. Only drawback I can observe, and I ain't getting one any time soon anyway.

So my blower was gone at 21,000 rpm 🧐 I knew I sent it to the moon 🌝😂🤣
But I was careful with mine in the summer I only ran the 2.75 upper because of the efficiency of it in the heat , I paid close attention how hot the iats would get and I always tried to keep them at the end of the runs around 135 or less , I went to the 2.57 when the weather had cooled down and still was able to keep the iats in check ( 135 or less) fortunately I never had any blower issues. Some would disagree but I personally thought the iats were a way for me to keep the blower alive

At second glance, still looks like pulley and TB or able to be gotten to and they say no port work needs to be done so, meh, maybe not.

If current means the Drag Pak that being built and hopefully being run this spring summer, what are they being shifted at? I have a friend getting one, I will know soon enough, lets see

Yeah, you can compute trap RPM, however, shift RPM is entirely different, right?

If you use 3-4% converter slip you are looking at 8900 RPM.

Yeah, you can compute trap RPM, however, shift RPM is entirely different, right?
I’m assuming that for those cars they will be set up to trap above shift rpm. Shift light will be on as they go thru the lights. I know that torque converter slip is rpm dependent and they want that thing as locked up as possible. I think I remember that they are coming with 4:11 gears and a 30 tall tire. Assuming that converter slip is going to be very minimal on a perfectly thought out piece like one of these things, I’m guessing that you can get a pretty close max rpm by figuring what it’s going to be turning in the lights. I think think the shift rpm would be slightly lower than the trap rpm

Why would you assume shift rpm is lower than trap rpm? Based on what? If the motor makes more HP at 10,000 rpm and will stay together, guess what the shift point will be, hmmm, come on man.

Thanks AJ. Of coarse just because they come with a 4:11 gear doesn’t mean that’s what the fast ones are running. As fast out of the box as they may be... the competitive racers in that class are operating at some Pro Stock level shit. Those guys might be a few rpm higher 🤔

Why would you assume shift rpm is lower than trap rpm? Based on what? If the motor makes more HP at 10,000 rpm and will stay together, guess what the shift point will be, hmmm, come on man.

Keep posting that nonsense, lets see what the shift points are, we will all know in a few weeks or months. Why do you think rice burners shift at 12,000 rpm+ and not 7,000 RPM? It is real simple, they make more power at higher rpm and they stay together for at least one pass.

This has nothing to do with trap speed, come on you know this
