Not meant as a slight, I just thought it was a DHC

I like the 6.4 engines and they're great for a daily driver.

It is the 6.4. More easy to get a nice one. If I could wait a long time (can’t) and wanted to spend more (I don’t), maybe then. But enough is enough.

I love my DSRT...the 6.4 drives soooo smooth, and like the Hellcat, it is very hard to drive slow! Cruising at 85-100 is just like butter. Would I like a DHC, who wouldn't, but very happy with what I have. Plus without the blower, it's a 100lb lighter, and much easier to access things on the engine, especially the spark plugs!

But access would be better yet on a V6. And it'd be cheaper, and get better mileage.

Then just add some Hellcat badges and get the best of both worlds.

Don't even need a dodge for that. Remember the guy here a few years back who had them on his silverado?

Jimmy! You okay? A V6? Which side of the performance world is better with smaller?

We are talking about good old V8 with 390 cubic inches controlled and fed as best can be done no forced induction. It is a pretty nice unit from the factory. We all know if we want, we could unlock a bit more smooth power or change to E85 for even more fun. But the point is she is a nice machine as developed to what it is and may be it its’ last year or so.

Our 6.4 Challenger is a great cruiser. More than enough for the streets and highways.

I am idling my Redeye on the streets now. It is ridiculous. I drive it nearly identical to how I have driven in the past and continue to drive very high torque (stupid high powered) V-Twin engines. ;)

This is the mellow throttle version!

Hey, I bought a V6 Challenger. Not only because that's all I could get with AWD, but also because that's enough for a basic "practical car".

Same with the Ram 1500 I had. Could've had a V8, as they say, but why? A 5.7 still wouldn't have made that practical car fun.

So, the Challenger has a 6.2, which makes it fun. And the Grand Cherokee had one for the same reason. As does the new 1500. And I have been thinking about ordering a Durango with the 6.2.

Never did see the point in getting something that's almost there. It's all or (almost) nothing for me.

Now wait, you say a Durango with a 6.2 or a 6.4, check that.

I thought they'd have the 6.2 again for '23. If not, I couldn't care less about getting one.

^^^ I thought there was talk of a '23 DDHC as well, perhaps it's been killed off or will be a 'late' offering ?

It's a 6.4, not a 6.2. They used to have a 6.1.
Hmm, I took for granted that the Durango Hellcat used the some 6.2 as the other 'Cats.

But hey, I wouldn't be opposed to a supercharged 6.4, even though they claim it's still "only" 710 hp.

6.2 are Hellcats. 6.4 are Scat Packs and other animals.
