Wait, what the hell did I miss?!

Last time I focused on what you were doing was cursing at a transmission and threatening a sale?

Did you buy a new HC?

Sorry about being so utterly disconnected...
new trans is in, got to a point where it is driving and got it to inspection, i still potentially want to sell it but bidenomics are making me see how much deeper this recession will go

I hear ya on that one! Once the rains kick in up here in the Pacific Northwest they don’t stop until march. Things I have done so far, change engine oil, clean air filter, rebalance rear tires, scrap all that burnt rubber out of wheel wells, been working on that for a few days now and still not done. Rubber was caked up about 1/4 inch thick in some places, heat gun and a scraper makes the job go a little easier. So far I have scraped off 5 pounds of burnt rubber, that one picture is a plastic bucket full of rubber. not a fun job.

Once you get it cleaned out, several guys have various techniques that make it easy to remove.

Maybe they can chime in with their technique

The short version is spraying down the plastic with stuff that promotes removal, such as detailing sprays, some work better/easier than others, I forget which ones.

Basically you can spray out the rubber when done.

Manual station at the local car wash?

Even be a decent guy and clean up afterwards a bit?

Changed my diff fluid. Also said fuck ZF fluid. Following @16GoManGoHC2 footsteps.

Changing diff fluid even on quick jacks sucks. Had to use a transfer pump. Fill till overflows then race to put the plug in without diff fluid not getting everywhere lol…
Good news no sparkles so that means no metal shavings!

Then took her for some test miles. 15psi without even breaking 4k rpm… I have a problem on my hands 😂

Were the fill and drain plugs accessible with the DIRS in the way? I did my fluid change at about 1300 miles, before I added the brace. Thanks fumanchu.

the bottom one is not accessible unless you have a stupid long allen key socket, even then I dont think it will fit through the hole. I took it off and then did the fluid change. Was just easier.

I change mine with the P4D DIRS in place using a long ball end hex driver bit. With the super magnet plugs the plugs stick to the hex key like glue, no dripping them, easy out easy in.

Good choice of fluid there Fuman, how much Friction Modifier you add? I usually only use half the bottle per change, 2 oz, so one bottle of the stuff last for two diff oil changes as once the clutches are coated in the stuff once they don’t need much more to maintain some slip, too much and the Diff will end up slipping too much.

As per Mike (shop I work with) you’re supposed to use the whole bottle. The way I did it was transfer some fluid. Make some room, dump in friction modifier, shake, then transfer. Then topped off with some addition .2 quarts. (Till it flows out the top plug). Next time Im doing this.
Just gonna pop a hole in the side of the amsoil bottle up top and transfer.

I would only use it if I needed to. I'm yet to have clutches chatter to need to use it

Just admired the car after cleaning it. Just realized my car has a dumptruck for a rear end. 🍑
