Do that along with a Faraday pouch for your key fob(s) and your keys are no longer looking for the car and vice versa. Hardly inconvenient and a simple/inexpensive way to help prevent/deter theft.
Igla and block off plate for the win, but doing this along with some AirTags (with the speakers disabled) for good measure are all steps in the right direction.
