Wow, where to start on this, they had a $ 7,500 tax credit and free charging for 2 years plus 10 year battery warranty and bumper to bumper for 4 years. They are run around cars and are awesome at that.
I'm glad I'm able to help pay for your EVs, but in my case someone would have to pay me to have one.

And even if I somehow got paid $250/mo.,with everything paid for (insurance, registration, charging, tires, all of it), I still wouldn't want a vehicle that's useless to me. Soulless and useless just isn't a good combination.

Free charging two miles away? Not particularly appealing to walk that far with bad knees. But if I feel like it, I can fill the 6.2s up right here at home. Have yet to do it, though, as I save that gas for vehicles that never get out on the road.

Guess what I really don't understand here is why someone who claims to have cars that are fun to drive would voluntarily be seen in public in an EV. Unless it's because of an internal fight within your head, where you want to appease the liberal side, and be seen as such, while also having access to the real and enjoyable part of life

I have a level 2 charger, paid $450 for it from Amazon and have never used it. Volkswagon, Audi, Porsche, Hyundia, Mercedes, BMW electric cars all come with free charging for either 2 or 3 years with Electrify America, which is the 2nd biggest charging network (Tesla is the biggest). The charger is a backup in case the charging station is not available.

Some here think I am joking, I literally do not pay for charging, the cars are charged at the Electrify station which is 2 miles away and it is free for the first 2 years.

So far the electric cars have saved me over $ 11,000 in gas compared to having a Ram 1500 and Trackhawk as daily drivers and no oil changes or other maintenance. They have instant torgue and a super low center of gravity, no transmission, they are the easiest cars to drive and handle lack they are on rails.
Nothing is free. NOTHING!!!

I agree, so let me correct it, it is free for me. Is that better?

Then there is the wait while the thing charges, can't envision myself hanging around a charging place in 95 deg. FL heat or pouring rain.
Bet you'd prefer 95 and rain over -10 or -20. And the battery definitely would.

If that is better or not depends on your conscience. A lot of people are perfectly fine with living off the government gravy train. Others can see the forest despite the trees.

You wait in the car with the AC or heat on. The weather is not a problem other than the charge rate in the winter

The Electrify American network was paid by Volkswagon as part of the settlement agreement with the diesel emission crap. The free charging was paid by Hyundia, not living off the government gravy train just taking advantage of a crack head (legal) deal and saving a lot of money.

I'm not a patient person and my time is more valuable (to me) than the cost of gas. If it works for you, that's great, but until they address many of the issues that have been pointed out I'm not even going to look.

Like it or not, wihtin the next 6 or 7 years there will be no choice, all the car manufacturers are switching over (Toyota is staying hybrid it appears).

So in six or seven years they will have invented fully useful and safe batteries, found ways to create the needed electricity, and built the infrastructure to supply it?

If I had to guess, it's far more likely that in six or seven years even the die hard greeinies will have realized that this EV thing just won't work.

Probably not to most of the issues, however, the ship has sailed, just look at Dodge no hemis in 2024. Plus gas will be shortly over $ 5.00 (imo) since the strategic reserve has been drained by over 50% and OPEC keeps cutting production.

As soon as we can get the left leaning socialist old POS out of the Peoples House we can be energy independent once again.

Depends what you define as a choice, one way or another, they will make ICE engines the past. The plan so far (IMO) has been to make is so financially expensive to own a ICE vehicle that there is really no choice for most people. Just look how expensive it is now to perform basic repairs on a ICE vehicle.

Electrify America is 3 years currently of free charging.

I saw a lease deal that would basically have me at ~$100/mo to drive the car for 2 years. That is a TV bill, half a cell phone bill, dinner at a nice restaurant etc. And you don't beat up your own shit.

Wait until you have to repair your EV's. LOL My nephew just put tires on his Model S and they cost as much as the high performance Nittos 555R2 I just put on my Hellcat.

The damage is done, no new refineries for decades, population keeps growing, energy production is constrained and limited, keep energy is a thing of the past, so it seems.

Not true, only three years with Volkswagon and Porsche, Hyundai/Audi and think Mercedes have 2 years free.
