The end result is a quagmire. If the UAW gets all that they want, car prices increase dramatically, car sales suffer, UAW members get laid off and jobs go offshore. If the automakers win (with reasonable agreement), car prices increase moderately and jobs stay in the USA. If there is a long strike, automakers lose sales/profits, UAW members lose income, possibly have jobs moved offshore. Decisions, decisions, decisions...

Pay would be 1/2, pay duez, travel, go 2 school non pay. For what? 2 get fired by da local whore sit on da bench, laid off, and get paid 1/3 rd of regular pay. 1/2 bi 1/3 is nuttin fer pay. Then travel 2 Knoxville, dues, no pay, ect. Nope. 8 earz ago da same union, but local 69 out of Tampa, Fl, asked me 2 do da same. But, hired in ass a mechanic, top pay, chiller instructurd to da apprentices, all benefits. I wurked 1 day and quit. Job sucked. I waz asked 2 cum back any time. Nope.
