Yep, that is why it is banned. The 149 speed limiter did not skirt the NHRA rules as Dodge proudly announced that it was banned going 8.91 @ 151. Now before you ask how did it run 151 with a 149 speed restriction, please read the emails from SRT which addressed that situation.

Again, please read the emails, I have provided the links (on page 49 of this thread) and some crappy screen shots of the emails from SRT. Plus, it is apparently stated in the owners manual that 149 is the speed limit.

That is a joke, a specially made drag radial has a V rated? total nonsense, a mustang at sick week just went 6.25 at 226 with drag radials. The videos reference the drive shaft as being part of the problem

It would only take 1 guy to run thru the trap with his foot still into it to see the limiter

If you are implying that this is only a tire problem, the emails from SRT state otherwise. I know you are doing damage control, I get it, but the emails are pretty clear. A tire swap does not solve the problem (based on the emails from SRT) and does not explain the Dodge advertisements stating the top speed is 215 mph.

A tire swap does not solve the problem (based on the emails from SRT) and does not explain the Dodge advertisements stating the top speed is 215 mph.

I think tires are an issue as the car sits
I heard fuel issues
But this could be the limiter
I ve heard about driveshaft issues also

From the screen dumps you posted it looks like Dodge is doing some back peddling already

I've been pit crew for Sam who held the record for fastest Dodge Challenger at the TX Mile, he may still hold it not sure. I have speed certs for his car hitting 205.7MPH, but I think he eventually went 212MPH.

What I can tell you is that event is ROUGH on body panels and everything else and I'd never wanna try to run a Demon (2018 or 2023) at an event like that with it's sail of a hood. Just asking for all kinda trouble. 215MPH would destroy the car.

Speedy, there is a youtube video of a racer going 2011 mph in the standing mile in a 2018 Demon, all the panels appear to be intact, there was no drama from the GO Pro mounted in the car. I would probably post a link to it.

The bottom line remains the same, speed limited to 149 mph.

Not to throw coal on the fire; but I saw the original statement on Dodge Garage and assumed it to be correct; when it came out that the 200 mph speedometer of the 2018 Demon was being changed to 220 mph on the 170. I find it all very interesting. I can only assume as others have said; it must be a legal issue that came up.
