Note that those cars had a single master cylinder. Back in 1973, I went off the end of the track (1/8th mile) two weeks in a row with my 64 when my brakes failed. I broke spider gears two weeks in a row and a rear brake adjuster fell down twice before I realized the bottom spring between the brake shoes was missing. My front brakes were barely grabbing and I couldn’t downshift my Doug Nash Hemi pro shifted 4 speed. That was exciting!
