High IAT with IC Chiller

Hey guys, I've had my IC Chiller installed for a few months now. Been performing as expected until today. Today was about 75 out and IC temps were in the 30's. Awesome, that's normal. What's odd is that IAT's were around 115 cruising at 60ish, which is about 30 degrees higher than usual post Chiller install (in the same conditions). Actually got to 150 degrees IAT after idling a few minutes which also has never happened since installing the chiller.

Until today, IAT's usually stay within about 10 degrees of ambient. Any ideas on what might be happening?

Pump could be bad or you got a leak/loose fitting somewhere and got air in the system. Pull a vacuum on the coolant and see if it holds

Wouldn't that cause IC temps to be high as well?

They can leak if installed improperly and its often up under the bumper where u cant see it or ur IC pump has failed or ur AC isnt working properly make sure its charged. Interchiller has an upgraded pump might as well buy that if ur pump has failed it flows a lot more fluid.

You could also have a failing map sensor. Each map sensor reads temperature as well and sometimes with chillers, they fail from being exposed to water over time. The water comes from condensation dripping onto them after turning off the vehicle with really cold ICT still. It's usually the one in the front passenger side below the intercooler. Once it gets bad enough, a code should pop up unless they've been turned off in the tune.

You could also have a failing map sensor. Each map sensor reads temperature as well and sometimes with chillers, they fail from being exposed to water over time. The water comes from condensation dripping onto them after turning off the vehicle with really cold ICT still. It's usually the one in the front passenger side below the intercooler. Once it gets bad enough, a code should pop up unless they've been turned off in the tune.

An easy way to check this is to swap one of the post IC map sensors with the map sensor on the lid. If the temps don't go back to normal, you could try swapping it out with the other post IC map sensor that's on the back driver side of the supercharger. If with either swap your IATs do start reading normally, then order a replacement sensor and replace when able.

Pretty certain pump is fine since IC temps are cold. Ac works like a champ. IAT is just totally out of whack.

I'll definitely look into that, thanks! While investigating this, I'm realizing the outside temp reads higher than it actually is. Any idea where that sensor is? 2016 if that matters.

Ambient air temp sensor is located in the bumper in front of all the radiators and heat exchangers. It sometimes picks up heat coming off all those components and the engine bay.

Well crap. Wasn't the MAP sensor on the front passenger side.. Haven't tried the one on the back of the SC yet but I'm hoping that's it. The crossover tube (or whatever it's called) on the back of the SC did accumulate some sweat on it maybe it's been dripping on the sensor.

Just wanted to put an update out there. It ended up being the MAP sensor on the back of the supercharger. IAT's are back to where they're supposed to be. Thanks @zhc
