Who's running larger Throttle Body?

Did that with one of my vettes and it did nothing but eat moe gas. Looked nice but no increase, noticeable, to compensate the $$$. Nope,, waste of $$.

I’m thinking if your running a bigger after market SC and what applications will depend on if it’s needed or not. For my self I have a ported Magnuson SC with the VMP on my 426 stroker so for my set up I needed the bigger TB. I need as much air as I can get in my set up.
For the stock SC set up with a ported snout 100-105mm TB would be the biggest you should go.
Just my 02 cents.
Lol and no I have no dyno numbers to back it up.
Real proof would be 1/4 mile times before and after.

any actual info on whether or not a larger throttle body produces more power ,I just ran on my stock throttle body this weekend with my jokers full tilt port and my car ran fast ,the 105 mm that I was testing was not available because it was sent back for the final revisions
What do you mean "final revisions". Do you mean motor electronics that need to be tweaked to sync with computer? That's my biggest fear with the aftermarket throttle bodies. I would love to run a 105 on the Redeye when I start getting into the motor but I know a few years ago the early BBK's (and ALL aftermarket TB's) were a real PIA with tuning. They couldn't get them to work correctly (computers wouldn't read motors right) and then even after a retune and adjustment, would work for a little while and then fall out of sync again and run like crap again.
For me it's a no brainer, bigger blower or smaller pulley with bigger injectors and the bigger TB has to help. But if they don't have the electronics right and the motors gonna be finnicky or run like crap 90% of the time, that's the deal breaker for me. It wouldn't be worth the HP on the street for loss in reliability.

That’s why I went with the VMP no tuning issues so far. I called VMP and they put all there TB on all there Hellcat builds with no tuning issues. Not saying there perfect but so far so good. Down side is that they are pricy!😩 I do agree with you though, their is a lot of issues with most of the after market TB’s out their.

I have a hhp 105mm and they use stock electronics. They take the electric guts from a stock throttle body and install it in their 105mm . So far no problem with the throttle body itself . I got the start up and idle where I want it I just have to drive it now.

The actual revision is the throttle plate , at the end of the day in Georgia it started sticking on the return rd the throttle body never acted up while I was racing but the plate change was already planned, the idle was perfect and no codes but the plate expanded I believe and started sticking so it’s getting a revised plate brass I think , I’ll let y’all know how it ends up

The BBK 100mm has no issues on the Hellcat, stock, or tuned. They use OEM electronics and even has an adapter plate to use if you have a stock snout. Its a very well made piece and I havent seen anyone that is running one complain about it, stock or tuned.

Lol I am no legend. Just a guy not afraid to try new things . Some times it works .......... Some times it doesnt . As for the tuning I try small things myself and only bug Mike at ost for the big stuff .

As for Dave I can't believe how far he has gone in such a short time . He is a maniac lol

As for the big throttle body here is my opinion on this .
Stock to minor mods the stock throttle body is perfect. ( catch can, spacers, exhaust , etc)

Once you start ramping up the mods then then 95mm is a great choice to compliment your mods
( pulleys , cam, stroker, etc)


Once you get nuts with mods and really crank It up and what every hp/tq you can get then the 100mm and up will help . ( all of the above plus bigger supercharger, headers, ported everything, etc)

A throttle body is a supporting mod not a main mod .

What 105tb? I believe Brett matches the snout to merry up to 105 TB. I would think it would be worth it with a full tilt blower.
