Have my First blower apart now to fix it, gear side of drive rotor galled into the back of the case because bearing bore was too tight to allow it to expand forward in the plate, it couldn’t because it was too tight. I didn’t know this until after the damage was done. Started car up, sounded perfect, let it warm up 10 minutes all still good, stabbed it a few times, very responsive, held it at 2500-3000 rpms, 20 seconds in engine just shut off, no noise no nothing, took SC belt off couldn’t turn the SC, removed kid saw galling on back of rotor case. Removed plate, honed bores to match OEM plate and put it on a spare blower I recently purchased (yea, I’m a dare devil lol) second time around all seems well still but FAS not helping one bit unfortunately, guys a crook in my book.
I hear there’s another plate in development by another shop that won’t have these issues and a superior finish as well, and cost less too!!
