Gonna start removal of the 2.4 blower this afternoon. I have rubber caps for the coolant lines on the water manifold so that's covered. I'll have to use some bolts in the coolant lines to plug those.

Any tricks I need to be aware of removing this thing? I've had it lifted up in the front to remove the snout before, but never completely off the car.

Hope all goes well, Speedy! Can't offer any tips, but I'll be following along of course to file away knowledge when my time comes...I think 16GoManGo2 has us pretty well prepared...

Disconnecting the cooling lines in the rear are a pain. After doing this twice try disconnecting at the Y and the bottom line by the fill tank. There is a plastic tie so to speak you can use a small screw driver to loosen it to get hose out

Look at both and see which works best for you. You forget how heavy that is until you take it off.

Knowing you and your wife, you 2 probably been working out with the 2.7 doing different lifts:unsure:

Thanks Jim. I'm gonna "try" not to drain the coolant res but we'll see. I've got those hose clamp pliers that I'm hoping help with the clamps.

Yes you can disconnect the hoses by the tank and the other halfway up alongside the valve cover so you don’t have to mess with them behind the supercharger and then transfer the hoses over to your new supercharger going on and reconnect them in a place that’s easier to get at the clamps. But I do it at the supercharger manifold using one of these cable operated clamp tools they are great for these clamps especially in awkward places and I use this cotter key removal tool with the end blunted so it doesn’t poke a hole in the hose to get under the hose between it and the fitting to get the hose loose off the fitting so you could twist it and then I pull it off and have a cap and plug and hand and put my thumb over the hose and put a cap on the fitting on the supercharger then I plug in the hose and do the same for the lower hose. I put paper towels under it all fluid loss is minimal, be sure to crack the cap on the surge tank to get rid of any pressure first and then put the cap back on it to create a vacuum which helps keeps the fluid in the hoses. Don’t forget to disconnect the coolant temperature sensor in the back of the supercharger before you try to lift it off or you’ll break it off and not be a happy camper or spend 35 bucks for a new one that you could get from advanced auto or AutoZone. Disconnect the fuel line, and pressure sensors, TB, etc and just lift it off. You have thermal spacers and a blower blanket? A friend of mine has new stuff for sale if you’re interested let me know would be shipping from Phoenix so I could get to you quick in like two days. Probably get it for 350 shipped. One blanket comes with the spacers, the other is mine already.

Awesome thanks for the tips. I'm getting good at this. 30 minutes and it's ready come off.

Crew Chief Greg is gonna make some 21mm plugs for the coolant lines.

Yes I have spacers and blanket, wish I knew your buddy had them for sale but I got mine back in July.

O, I forgot to post the pictures along with my post lol

These plugs and capacity cost about $for all of them lol. The caps go on the SC manifold fittings and any barbs, the plugs go into the hoses.

If a group is going and I find a trailer for a good price I’d consider it.

Sort of off topic, but I thought you had a Legmaker CAI installed !? Looks like you went with something different at some point - why the swap?

I also went through a Legmaker - absolute top-notch quality, but the whine is pretty loud - kinda cool for a while, but I tried the JLT and it took the edge off just right for my liking.

Wondered about that, seemed like it might get to be too much over time !

if any Andy Griffith Show fans out there, the Legmaker whine sounds just like their squad car siren, varying pitch with engine rpm ;)
