Alright, I need to find odd fittings to make my new pump work with minimal fittings. I need a 1” npt to 16an ORB. Will a 16 SAE ORB be the same as a 16 AN ORB?
Not sure you will be able to find that combination. The ORB fittings are not as common as the AN’s. Plenty of NPT to AN so no problem on the out side if the pump. There is a 1”x1” (male-male) NPT. I believe the pump inlet will take a NPT as well as a ORB.

Hmm, interesting on the 1-1npt, I wonder if that’s why I see paste on both tank and pump side in setups I see. Been talking through it with @fumanchu182 and we’re both pretty sure the npt to 16 an orb doesn’t exist lol. Going to call PNR in the morning
But then if the pump has to come out, the tank has to be lifted up. So was even considering a 16an female to 16 an orb male but, of course, doesn’t exist/12 is the biggest size
Clear a mud. Everything says it takes a 16 an orb, yet Davies Craig’s site says you can use this regular fitting to convert the pump from 16 an to 1” npt 🤔 and the pump doesn’t have a flare inside, not sure how that’s supposed to seal at all
The way I read that is all the pumps after 2014 are AN. That means your fitting from the tank will be male NPT into the tank with a male AN into the pump. Pump out will -16 AN in and out. Done👊
