I want to drive one of the two and I am unsure. Does someone ride this size and has experience?

does the metco pulley have a freewheel like the original pulley?

something else needs to be considered or modified in the pulley size?

metco is only a solid, non clutch style.

if you want to spin the blower that fast, do the math. maybe a 10% ATI lower an the litens 2.72 will get you there.

lot of guys run metco pulleys but I won`t, I like the free wheeling of the litens, takes the load off everything on decel. I have a 2.85 litens with 10% ATI an have seen 17 lbs boost, that`s enough for me.

It can knock the rotors out of sync. @16GoManGoHC2 has some knowledge of this. If he chooses to add to this.

Yea, I read this post, there’s those that believe a solid pulley is ok and there’s ones who believe it isn’t. After disassembling one of these blowers down to a bare case and seeing how their held together and rotors are timed to each other and what holds that Zin place I’m on the side that a solid isn’t good. And the Higher the ratio between drive and driven pulley the worse this becomes as the speed change over time is even quicker inducing more stress. But if you want to spin the blower as fast as a 2.50 on a stock lower will go your better off putting a 10% OD on the bottom and something bigger then a 2.50 on the top like a 2.72 Litens as the smaller you go in pulley size the less circumferential contact patch the belt has for grip. This is just the opposite that is wanted as the faster you spin it the more HP it takes to do such so the need for more grip is needed, bigger pulleys give you such. That’s my plan when I go E85, 10% OD on lower and 2.72 Hellraiser up top but that will be on a blower I’m rebuilding now with super high speed bearings on each end of the rotors and the idler lobe pinned to its shaft once timing is set.
I’m sure you have heard the phrase Pin it before you spin it mentioned about the harmonic damper because it’s not keyed to the crank snout? Well the rotor lobes are not keyed to their shafts either, they depend on clamp load from a bolt to keep them from spinning on their shafts as well. Everything in the blower is like this from the pulleys to the Coupling hubs to the rotors, all are mounted and smooth round shafts, minus the fancy diamond encrusted washer used on the crank pulley. Do you feel lucky??

@FFBOS runs a pretty small pulley setup.

First guy I thought of who is active on here too.

Plenty of e85 guys running small pulleys all of the time. You'll need their first hand experience to make a judgement.
The decel is less of a problem on A8 vs M6

2.50 here.

8k miles now.

Still as quiet as day 1.

Does it shorten the life? Maybe...but theres been a few Litens and OEM that have failed too.

Spin it outside of OEM specs...deal with the potential consequences. Theres no free lunch.

2.40 is gonna be pushing the stock blower. Recent testing is suggesting more power is made with larger pulleys due to heat.

Yes 2.40 is for the track was Q16 but they have changed to renegade fuel so not sure what they will want to run I think 109... i have a 2.85 for the street on 93... That will be turning sc as fast as u want to spin it... I’ve talked this a member who ran a 2.40 into the high 8 on just motor. when Watching @Speedy post To see how that flex is working sure would be easier just running one fuel! We wI’ll see Friday how it does?

I understand the theory, but a 2.85 will only get you so far. The guys running fast are running small pulleys, right?
