Looks great. Jake and I are chatting for the last couple of weeks. Let's see where his pricing and delivery timeline are.
But I do agree, he focuses on details and wants to build the best engine possible.
I'm hoping to start my build in the next several weeks. Want to be ready for Texas 2K in March.
KB Builds can be huge when racing!
Colby Because you seem to be like my husband ( Top Cat ) and like the "Bigger is Better" means faster. I am going to give you a few tips to think about as I have a Race Car that had a KB 4.2 on it.
The World's Fastest Hellcat runs a Big KB it has all the safety gear and all the heavy upgraded mods to support all the Power to the ground from the extra big torque from the KB.
1.Try to remember Leon built his Hell Cat in his "Epling's Garage" and in stages with always testing the mods on the way.
2. Your Speed shop of course will want you to build this but are they willing to support you freely at the track since you will be touting them. If you don't line things up right now you may be disappointed because you car is always in the shop.
3. Are you OK to be the R&D Guy? My Husband was with my KB build I was not and wanted to be on the track.
4.Does your shop have any experience with a KB Build of any kind on a Hemi? Who's Hellcat and what are the results from the track?
5. Are you going to add all the safety equipment an get your license? ( Maybe you all ready did?)
6. I would think about if this is your race car then you might want to consider Holley for Tuning ware.
7. Do you know all the supporting mods that need to be added? Please just don't think it's OK we will figure it out on the way.
8. Have you thought about your Trans Upgrade?
9. And BTW the KB definitely needs everything possible for cooling it down. Mine had an ice box, intercooler, meth injection and we had to ice it down on Top of that! Maybe for Hellcats there are newer ways.
10. All is possible with lots of $$$$$$ decide your limit and what you want for an ET. A Shop should be able to give you a parts list and quote a ball park price. Things become available and may help the build.
John enjoyed the R&D, T&T, being Crew Chief, watching, and racing. He was different. The above comes from how I felt.
You are a racer and want to enjoy the track.
Happy New Year!
Linda
