Isn't that the 3rd litens you've grenaded?

Damn son. Glad I didn't get the baby one now.

In actuality 4 this year, the 2.85 I ran for years on stock lower, it lasted maybe a month on the +10, then yes 3 2.72’s as well on the +10 lower. It must just be too much for them, they see 7200 rpm from the bottom end occasionally so I’m sure that doesn’t help. Hopefully this Whipple lives up to its hype. A couple guys I know first tried the Maggie but broke the input shafts on them repeatedly and went to this 3.0 with success so far 🤞🤞all be it theirs are all out stage 3 race ported units I think the shafts, bearings, snd everything else is the same though except for porting, fuel rails, TB so in essence a stock stage 1 like I have should be seeing much lighter duty then theirs.

The whipple is nice eye candy as well! The maggie with the side shaft and belt to turn the rotors looks like an after thought

Is it on yet:unsure:

The blower gaskets remind me of some exhaust gaskets
Disassembly begins!!

Found the pulley front right below the crank pulley, looks like it is just rtv’d in place?? Pulley still clutches fine, blower feels and looks perfect, belt is greased so that was probably the boost loss, I could have probably kept running the other night. Needless to say it’s coming off, probably today.

I’m planning on using the insulator spacers even though a couple guys with the Whipples (those going mid 8’s) say their not needed and don’t use them but how can they be of hurt? I would think they would help keep heat from the blower base? I ordered the longer bolt kit and special front bracket needed that Nitrous outlet sells to use with their spray plates in case I decide to use them.

I would also use the spacers but will they fit? I guess they must if the kit uses spacers. What is the bracket for?

Bracket is for front support of Whipple to water pump, need a different bracket if putting spacers under the Whipple such as the Nitrous plates or in my case insulator plates. I have to make sure the O-rings will have the right places to seal too on the bottom of the Whipple to decide if I’m going to use them or not

You will have to take picture of that on. Does the whipple come with a bracket then for mounting?

Yes, but the bracket they send only works with no spacers and gaskets they send. This bracket was $50 plus $13 shipping 🤦🏼‍♂️
And $40 for the longer bolt kit, luckily I get the same SS buttons heads at a MUCH better price :)

Blowers off :)
Having the proper size plugs and caps in hand at time of hose separation keep messes and fluid loss to a minimum. Devised a quicker cheaper way of lifting the blower instead of making a plate to lift from the center of the lid which I never was too keen about, these M6 forged lifting eyes screw into the blower body, rated at 750 lbs each they won’t break.

I think about 3500 miles on engine now, valves pretty clean yet, benefit's of running a good catch can!!

I will keep this valley insulator blanket in place when I put the Whipple on but no blanket stuck on the bottom of the Whipple I don’t think, still pondering on that one .

Coil packs off, 1 plug out of each cylinder, ready for bore scope then leak down test. Notice the MMT staining from just 1/2 tank of fuel with 1/2 qt of Octanium Unleaded last fall never cleaned off the plugs, it’s the same every where else it collects, only one thing removes it, abrasive cleaning. Glad I’m on clean corn now!!

Not needed, I lifted it off with one hand.
Leak down test says PROCEED :)
Very good for a stone cold engine with big ring gaps. Actually gotten better since the last test 1000 miles ago, I think she’s fully seated in now, 3800 miles since the rebuild.
